A 27-year veteran of the restaurant business and a self-proclaimed master player on words, Johnny has relished in the opportunity of a restaurant named The Squeaky Bean. Upon entering the restaurant, his delight is apparent at every turn. Enjoy a few moments of conversation with him and resist the urge to partake in his creative knack for exploring your own inner bean. Also known as a bit of a Cork Dork and Spiritual Advisor, he is masterful at creating interesting wine lists and food pairings, not to mention a Bloody Mary that is unrivaled. He also likes to eat... a lot. Johnny has traveled to Napa's most acclaimed restaurants and has explored the culinary delights and spirits of Europe and South America. His appreciation for great food, terrific wine and a desire to translate both into a remarkable dining and drinking experience further inspired his collaboration with Max.

Max MacKissock's cuisine is driven by sourcing the best quality products, and inspired by the seasons. Max’s other passion, travel, has also helped to shape and mold Max’s identity as a chef, taking flavors and techniques from all over the world. Max credits his time in southern Italy as really changing his life as a chef. Max was in awe of the way that the Italian culture cooks so ultra local. “Importing food to southern Italy just doesn’t happen, you eat what you have. And, that’s a beautiful thing”. This philosophy is evident in the food at The Squeaky Bean. Max works diligently to source the best ingredients, and prepare them in a way that showcases the ingredient. Max is a natural leader who creates a happy family like atmosphere in the kitchen that you can taste in the food. Max’s goal at The Squeaky Bean is to present avant garde food in a simple and approachable way, and in a simple and approachable atmosphere.
